Thanks for a summary of a weird phenomena I've too been seeing all too much of.

I've been reading some of the suomi24 posts because I feel that they allow me to understand what the people opposing agile methods think and feel like. This thread is pure gold in that regard.

Today I ran in to this book review on slashdot that immediately turned in to a what-is-the-problem-with-agile fest: http://books.slashdot.org/story/09/11/16/1448204/Becoming-Agile

It has the micromanagement-crowd, the makes-everyone-replaceable-crowd and the I-can-design-any-system-up-front-crowd.

"In addition to Tucman’s model it was also well visible in the Munich Gathering. Actually that means that we have to admit that leaders can’t just assume that teams self-organize when they are just empowered to do so. Sometimes directive forms of leadership are needed though we understand the drawbacks of command and control."

Hmm, it took us 2 months to implement Scrum in the company for internal teams. Easy so far. But we spent another year to change culture in such a way, that people start recognizing empowerment they have and without external pressure begun self-organizing themselves. And now most difficult. What should we do with customers? How to convince them the team works for them and not just "per se" so their absence almost always lead to fatal results? I dont know. I dont know.

I get quite many comments that my spam filters reject but which are basically just encouragements and greetings. Thank you for these.

Я предпочитаю написать здесь на английском языке и возможно на финском языке. Комментарии на русском языке наиболее вероятно отклонены.

We have written an article about this to the next Projektityölehti. In Finnish, but we are considering the translation, because people in linkedIn and other forums have been interested in experience reports on lean/kanban.
